Welcome to the School of Sport

As Scotland’s University for Sporting Excellence, the University of Stirling has an international reputation for sport achieved through research excellence and innovative teaching and the integrated, academic-led School of Sport is at its heart.

Our sports research is ranked first in Scotland and fifth in the UK in the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (RAE 2008). State-of-the art health and exercise science research laboratories provide the perfect setting to train future sports scientists and lead on projects helping to improve the health of the nation.

The sports facilities on campus are first class, including ten tennis courts, a swimming pool and a golf course,

with several national training centres and sports agencies based here.

Sports scholarships support talented student athletes while partnerships with the sports industry ensures students have every opportunity to prepare for excellent careers.
