About

Jason graduated from the University of Stirling with a combined honours degree in accounting and sports studies. Whilst at Stirling, Jason was heavily committed to the sports union, most notably the football and cricket clubs. He was subsequently elected and then re-elected to the sabbatical position of Sports Union President. In 2002 he started work as Sport Development Manager at Bournemouth University. Whilst at Bournemouth Jason completed his postgraduate certificate in academic practice and worked as a part time lecturer on the undergraduate sports degree programmes. Among his responsibilities included the management of the sports scholarship and focus sport programmes. Externally he held roles as English Universities Team Manager and British Universities Assistant Team Manager for golf. Jason was also on the football coaching staff for English Universities before returning to Scotland and fulfilling a similar role for Scottish Universities Sport in 2009. At Stirling, Jason has a dual role of Winning Students Co-ordinator and Sports Performance Co-ordinator. His responsibilities include establishing and co-ordinating the Winning Students network as well as working with governing bodies of sport to select and support Winning Students scholars across Scotland. His other duties include academic and practical teaching within the Department of Sports Studies. He manages the ISSP Tennis programme and works with the Sports Union.


Teaching
Jason contributes to seminar teaching on SPS917 (Operational Management in Sport) and SPS9D5 (The Development of Excellence in Sport). He is also involved in a range of practical teaching including, golf, tennis, swimming, pre-school football, squash and circuits

External Activities

Jason represented Scottish Universities at both football and cricket. He has also gained 13 caps for Alderney, scoring one goal and featured in their first inter-island victory since 1920! He is tremendously proud of his sister Caroline, a senior international for the England women's cricket team, who won both the ODI and Twenty20 World Cups in 2009. Caroline has set two world record batting partnerships during her England career.
